Mortal Shell 2 Randomizer: What Exists and How to Randomize Builds
Short answer: Mortal Shell 2 has no randomizer mode, and there is no randomizer mod on Nexus Mods yet. The good news: you don't need one. Below are three ways to randomize your own runs with a d6 and our free Build Planner — every reroll lands as a real, shareable loadout link.
Is there a randomizer in Mortal Shell 2?
No — as of our last check (September 24, 2026), Mortal Shell 2 has no built-in randomizer mode, and Nexus Mods lists 268 mods for the game with no randomizer among them. The closest things on Nexus are drop-adjustment mods like Configurable Item Drops, which change what enemies drop but don't shuffle your loadout or the world. If that changes — a mod release or a developer-made mode — we'll update this page the same week.
Until then, the spirit of a randomizer is easy to recreate by hand: three methods below, no installs, no game-file edits — just dice rolls and a planner link.
Why players want a randomizer
Randomizers are a tradition in the Souls community: the Dark Souls mod scene has shipped world-shuffle and item-shuffle randomizers for years, and they remain some of the most-played mods for replaying a finished game. Mortal Shell 2's structure is a natural fit for the same itch — eight shells, seven main weapons, eight offhands, four seals, and a tarstone loadout with support/combat/infusion/ability slots give every run thousands of possible combinations, and locking your picks before the first boss turns a familiar game into a puzzle. That's what this page does: the developer has announced no randomizer mode, and we won't speculate about the developer's plans — but nothing stops you from rolling the dice today.
Randomize your own runs — three ways
All three methods use the same ingredients: the full shell/weapon/seal lists below, a six-sided die (any dice app works), and the Build Planner to lock in and share what you rolled. None of these are game data — they're house rules we made up, so tweak any constraint you don't like.
Method 1 — The d6 roll table
The classic full random: roll once for each slot at the start of a run. Your run is now that loadout — no re-rolls until you defeat a boss (a "boss reroll": after every boss kill, you may re-roll one slot of your choice). Roll 1–3, 4–6 on each table; a slot roll of 1–3 picks from the first half of the list, 4–6 from the second half, then count down the rows.
| Roll | Shell | Main weapon | Offhand | Seal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1–3 → row 1 / 4–6 → row 2 | 1 Tiel, the Acolyte 2 Eredrim, the Venerable 3 Genessa, the Wayward 4 Smert, the Apostate 5 Proxima, the Broodseeker 6 Sariel, the Endless 7 Lazlo, the Justiciar 8 Gragu, the Insatiable | 1 Axe and Dagger 2 Black Needle 3 Obsidian Hammer 4 Veteran's Battle Axe 5 Great Martyr's Blade 6 Axatana 7 Clockwork Scythe 8 (roll again: 1–4 = Black Needle, 5–8 = Axatana) | 1 Naylshotte 2 Caged Hystrix 3 Salvaged Trebuchaxe 4 Triarch Repeater 5 Ballistazooka 6 Troubadour's Lute 7 Mether's Pulse 8 Hand of Rock | 1 Untarnished Seal 2 Vatra's Seal 3 Infinite Seal 4 Slayer Seal 5–6 = your pick between the two you've used least this month |
Tarstone reroll (optional, one d6): 1 = all Support stones, 2 = all Combat, 3 = all Infusion, 4 = all Ability, 5 = your planner preset's picks, 6 = roll 1–4 again and double it. Then rebuild the whole thing in the planner:
Example roll → planner: you roll Eredrim (5), Great Martyr's Blade (5), Ballistazooka (5), Slayer Seal (4). Open the planner with that exact loadout pre-loaded — that link pattern is what you share with friends: /build-planner/?shell=…&w=…&o=…&seal=…
Method 2 — Boss-swap constraint runs
For players who find a full random too swingy: keep your rolled shell, but every time you kill a boss, roll a new main weapon and must use it for the next area. The constraint is the fun — a Clockwork Scythe run that suddenly hands you a Black Needle for the next boss forces you to learn spacing you'd never practice on purpose. Two house rules to choose from: strict (the rolled weapon stays until the next boss falls, no exceptions) and soft (one "trade-in" per run, usable any time). Log each swap in the planner so your final link tells the whole story of the run.
Method 3 — Community seed format
Want to race a friend? Agree on a seed string and roll the same run independently. Suggested format (this is our convention — no game support, so it only works if both players follow it): MS2R-<d6 shell><d6 weapon><d6 offhand><d6 seal><rules letter> — for example MS2R-5242-B = 5th shell, 2nd main, 4th offhand, 2nd seal, ruleset B (boss rerolls on). Both players convert their seed with the table above, open the planner link, and compare notes after the same boss. If your group stream it, drop the seed in chat first so viewers can play along.
Randomizer FAQ
Will Mortal Shell 2 get a randomizer mode?
We don't know — the developer hasn't announced or teased any randomizer feature, and we won't guess on their behalf. What we can say factually: there is no randomizer mode in the game as of September 24, 2026, and none among Nexus Mods' 268 listings. If either changes, this page updates within the week — check the Last Verified date at the top.
Where can I find a Mortal Shell 2 randomizer mod?
Nowhere yet — we checked Nexus Mods on September 24, 2026: 268 mods, no randomizer. The nearest existing mods only adjust drop tables (e.g. Configurable Item Drops). Until a real randomizer mod appears, the dice methods on this page are the closest experience — and unlike a mod, they work on any platform, including Steam Deck.
